Do I fail the driving test if I take a wrong turn?

This is a common question from pupils and the short answer is …… NO.

What can happen though is a pupil can panic at the last min to correct it and cause a serious or dangerous fault, by breaking harshly or swerving.

If you realise you are about to turn off somewhere that is incorrect then don’t panic. Just take the turn and the examiner will let you know and get you back on route. As long as you have taken the turn safely then no driver fault will be recorded.
