Driving Test Nerves

Everyone has nerves on the day of the driving test, it’s normal. The driving examiner will be well aware of this too and will help you relax prior to the drive. Remember the drive is often less than 40 minutes so you’ll be out and back before you know it! Plus your instructor already has faith in you or you wouldn’t be taking the test in their car 🙂

But even before you go to the test centre there are plenty of skills and techniques to learn and practice to chase those nerves away and give you the confidence to pass your test first time: Mindfulness, commentary driving, practising driving test routes and multiple realistic mock tests all help massively to boost confidence in driving and dissolve test nerves.

At Specialist Intensive Driving we adopt all of these techniques plus we go the extra mile by utilising energy psychology techniques to eliminate fear around certain driving aspects, or even just driving in general. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping as it’s also known, has over one hundred studies proving it’s efficacy at removing emotion from thought and is used, when necessary, to help blast away those anxious thoughts and worries to give you the confidence to pass your driving test and drive safely and independently.
