One Way Systems
One way systems frequently cause problems for pupils on the driving test who aren’t familiar with the signs.
The main two problems are:
Attempting to turn into a ‘No Entry’ road.
Positioning to the left when emerging right out of a ‘One Way’ T Junction.
Watch out for the red and white circular ‘No Entry’ sign at the entrance to junctions. And the white ahead arrow on a blue rectangular background when entering a T Junction. Also at the end of the road look out for directional arrows, upside down triangles on both sides of the road, plus double white lines all the way across both lanes.
If you know you’ve positioned incorrectly then just turn in the direction that is permitted. This is fine on the driving test and will not result in a serious fault as you have turned correctly according to your road position. The examiner will help you get back on track with the test route.
