About Us

About Us

Specialist Intensive Driving instructors (SID Drivers) have many years of experience and are passionate about teaching people to drive.

We understand that we all learn differently, at SID we offer bespoke courses to our pupils and specialise in courses for those with SEN and anxiety.

Intensive driving courses are growing in popularity as an approach to driving tuition, this is because the time you have in the car with the instructor is used more efficiently than hourly lessons. Our courses aim to teach you all the driving skills you will need to be a capable and confident driver.

Specialist Intensive Driving instructors use the person centred approach to your lessons, they make the lessons work for you, with

  • Encouragement,
  • Time and patience
  • Advancement in skills
  • Confidence building

This enables pupils to advance in their driving.

Intensive Courses

Intensive driving courses are a growing and more popular alternative to the traditional approach of having 1 lesson per week.

Rather than spending over 6 to 12 months. Many people prefer intensive courses as it helps keep the driving practice fresh in your mind, making it possible to pass faster than the traditional single lessons approach.

An intensive course will allow you to train at a very fast rate if you show a natural aptitude for driving, and everything you learn will be fresh in your mind.

With weekly driving lessons, it’s sometimes easy to forget things. An intensive course can save you time and money as you might need fewer hours’ training.

How long do intensive driving courses last?
Intensive driving courses vary in length, depending on your skill level, availability, and the instructor.

  • Week-long courses are popular, with students committing nearly full-time to lessons for five or seven days. During these warp-speed courses, you may be in the vehicle for as long as six hours a day. Other courses spread instruction over two weeks.

  • If you’re starting from scratch or you think you’ll struggle with long days in the car, you may want to opt for a longer intensive or semi intensive course. If you simply need to brush up on a few skills before the test, you could choose 12 hours of lessons spread over two days.

  • Whichever course you’re thinking of have a chat with us first to advise you on the amount of hours that would suit you best and whether intensive or semi intensive is best. A course can be tailor made to fit your schedule.
